We are so fortunate to be able to bring the spirit of the Pray Shawl Ministry around the country as we present our workshop and retreat experiences.  In April of 2009 we were invited to the community of Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, TX.  We're grateful to Marty and Nancy for their 'southern hospitality' and we are thankful to Marty for sharing her "Cheese Shortbread Cookie" recipe us.

1/4 lb. butter (no substitute)
1/4 lb. Sharp Cheese, grated
1 Cup sifted flour
dash Worcestershire sauce - I only use Lea and Perrins
dash paprika
dash cayenne
Pecan or Walnut halves

Combine all except nuts; blend well.  Shape into balls.
Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten each with a fork.
Place half pecan or walnut on top of each round.
Bake at 325F for 25 minutes. Yield: about 2 dozen
