Lacey Shawl

The lacy shawl based on Pointe de Chantilly lace was done in
afghan crochet as follows:
3 skeins of yarn
Tunisian crochet hooks sizes L and M (available where
Annie's Attic supplies are sold, or online)
With L hook, chain 61
row 1 - With M hook, insert hook into 3rd chain from hook, YO,
and pull up a loop. Leave the loop on the hook. Ch 1.
Repeat across row (60 loops on hook)
row 1 return - On return part of the row, work off loops as follows:
YO, pull through one loop. (YO, and pull through two
loops) across row. This leaves one last loop on the hook
which starts the next row.
row 2 - Chain 1. Skip first vertical bar. (Insert hook through
next vertical bar AND through top strand of next horizontal
bar. YO and pull through both loops on hook. Ch 1.) Repeat
across. 60 loops on hook.
Repeat return part of the row.
Repeat row 2 until you have used about 2 1/2 skeins.
For last row, with the L hook, sc across.
Use the remainder of the yarn for fringe.
Since my pattern was a multiple of 6, I used the following
prayer as I stitched:
Father, Son, Holy Spirit, please bless <name> in body, mind,
soul. (The Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Body, Mind, Soul were
each a stitch - both on the pick-up and return rows.) If I
ended a row and didn't have the right wording, I knew I missed
a stitch somewhere.
Hope someone enjoys this pattern! It's based on "Luscious Red
Wrap" from the booklet "Getting Started With Easy Tunisian
Crochet - Fast, Fun, & Fabulous" by Annie's Attic, c 2003.
